DynaMoMat Laboratory research is focused on the study of the dynamic processes at molecular and macroscopic scales in organic crystals. The goal is to exploit this class of compounds as smart materials (for example novel crystalline optoelectronic devices) capable of adapting to external conditions, such as temperature, pressure, mechanical stress, chemical stimuli, light, electric and magnetic fields. The team develops innovative strategies to explore the reactivity and phase transformations of molecular crystals uncovering the still untapped potential of adaptive molecular crystals with particular focus on solid-state supramolecular chemistry, polymorphism, and organic semiconductors.
