Luca Catalano

Luca earned his PhD from the Polytechnic University of Milan with Pierangelo Metrangolo. After postdoctoral stays at NYU Abu Dhabi with Panče Naumov and at the University of Liverpool with Andy Cooper, he moved as a MSCA cofund Fellow at ULB hosted by Yves Geerts. He then worked as a research associate at the University of Rochester with Michael Ruggiero. He is now Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Visiting Scientist at the University of Rochester. His research is focused on smart functional materials. Simon Krasnow

Simon is an undergraduate chemical engineering major at the University of Rochester from Newburyport, Massachusetts. He chose the University of Rochester because of the opportunities for undergraduate research and the presence of the Eastman School of Music, where he has been able to continue playing oboe in his free time. Marietta Psarros

Marietta Psarros is an undergraduate student at the University of Rochester majoring in Chemical Engineering. Prior to joining the IRES CRYSTAL Dynamics Program, she gained research experience in computational fluid dynamics and developed a strong interest in the biotechnological applications of chemical engineering.
