Luca earned his PhD from the Polytechnic University of Milan with Pierangelo Metrangolo. After postdoctoral stays at NYU Abu Dhabi with Panče Naumov and at the University of Liverpool with Andy Cooper, he moved as a MSCA cofund Fellow at ULB hosted by Yves Geerts. He then worked as a research associate at the University of Rochester with Michael Ruggiero. He is now Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Visiting Scientist at the University of Rochester. His research is focused on smart functional materials. Giulia graduated in Biotechnology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in 2024. She is currently completing her MS degree in Industrial Biotechnology. She carried out one year as a research fellow in the Microbiology laboratory at the IRCCS of Reggio-Emilia. Alongside her academic path, her background as a professional athlete stands out, having led her to win several international competitions representing the Italian National Athletics Team.
